We are delighted to announce our new #soapmakers venture is with @severnvalleyrailwayofficial where we have made their Severn Valley Railway soaps.

Severn valley have chosen two scents, Rosemary & Charcoal and Lavender & Charcoal. The soaps have a decorative charcoal layer to representing the steam engines history and a clay colour of green or red to represent the countryside and the red clay stone found in Highley. This decorative coal seam makes for the perfect souvenir for their railway visitors.

Never made soap before then this workshop is perfect for beginners.

At the end of the workshop, you will own your homemade fabulous soap creations, (approximately 10 x 80g bars) Make the perfect gifts.
including the recipes and after one week when the soaps have set in their moulds, they are packed by 7soaps and ready for you to collect. You will be taken through the soap making process step by step by experienced soap makers, Karen and Xime from Stourport on Severn.

Suitable for ages 16+

Here at 7soaps we source local products to use in our soaps to ensure to keep us as green as possible but also supporting other local businesses and we thank Droitwich Salt for their continued support. This pure brine salt has been wonderful to work with and you can clearly see the natural purity difference between the salts we use in our cosmetics when using Droitwich spa salt products.

May Bank holiday fun in Gloucester

Our May bank holiday weekend was spent at the Orchard Street Market in Gloucester. Saturday and Sunday was beautiful sun-shining weather and the bank holiday Monday was a little wet as usual. The market seen over 70 traders selling their produce and some lovely artisan stalls too. 7Soaps had a successful weekend meeting everybody and of course selling our products. We would like to welcome our new clients from the weekend sales to 7soaps and also thank our Gloucester clients for popping by and saying hello whilst restocking their homes with our beautiful soaps once more.

We have also received a lovely review and a picture of her pampered puppy pooch Peggy. Thank you Sarah this is such a cute review to receive.

Our beautiful soaps aromas are noticeable as you approach the shelf where you will see our colourful eco friendly shop display full of our 7soaps natural range soaps. The display tray matches the soap packaging and fits perfectly with the shops theme where they promote brilliantly sustainable living. You can also purchase our Lavender and Tea tree dog shampoo bars at the shop too. The shop has a wonderful selection of local suppliers food, gifts & plants that make the perfect memory from a visit to this spectacular country park.

The Cob House country park nestles right in the heart of rural Worcestershire, only three miles from the centre of the Cathedral City of itself. They have strict guidelines in place for visiting us during COVID 19.

The idyllic surroundings offer the visitor time to relax to sit and enjoy the countryside from our spectacular Mayfly cafe overlooking some of the beautiful lakes and parkland whilst participating in many of our wonderful activities on site. Alternatively visitors can explore the extensive site by taking a stroll along the many footpaths, there are 7 walks available to download from the website.

For the little ones (and bigger ones!) the parkland which contains the timber trail play area, wildlife pool, and Football Goals (please take your ball). The Reindeer, Alpacas, Goats, Chickens and Ducks will be pleased to see you too! Please remember to wash your hand with hot soapy water after visiting the animals.

Because they do not charge an entry fee, they do not allow picnics onsite, the use of the Mayfly Cafe helps them to sustain and continue to offer free entry to enjoy the animals and grounds.

The Mayfly Cafe & Park is dog friendly and when outside in the grounds of Cob House Country Park, please keep your dog on a short leash, unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the fishery.

The Beavers were lovely and followed the soap making process with their parents, leaders & 7soaps teachers brilliantly and created a Lavender scented soap & a peppermint scented soap. Whilst we are all desperate to visit family and friends the current lockdown restrictions mean we need to be more creative with our time. 7Soaps are delighted to offer workshops via a zoom session that suit all your family, friends and colleges. If you are looking for an activity we offer corporate event workshops, community group workshops or private family and friends workshops.

We can tailor make your booking to suit your needs, on booking we wrap and pack your soap making boxes and send them with Royal Mail to your door prior to the workshop date.

We offer 2 types of workshops

Melt and pour workshop

Designed for community groups and perfect for a family crafting fun event our melt and pour workshop allows you and your family/friends to create beautifully scented soaps. This is also a brilliant add on to the cold process workshop.

Minimum 12 students
All ingredients provided by 7soaps
Suitable for children's groups (scouts & Girl Guides)
Party booking are available.

Melt and pour soap making workshop where students will learn how to make a simple soap using the melt and pour method. All equipment and ingredients are provided by 7soaps and the students will be able to keep the creative soaps they make. (Approximately 2-3 soaps).

These workshops are now available for community group via a zoom session and we provide all the material in a take home pack. Let's make soap together!

Cold process soap making workshop

1.5 hours
Minimum 8 students
All ingredients are provided with a soap mould and mixing jug.

In this workshop you will learn the cold process soap making technique and make 4-5 decorative soaps using a beautiful decorative mould and essential oil scents from Lavender to relax, lemongrass to feel like your in tropical paradise, peppermint to refresh all choose from a selection of oils in stock.

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is not suitable for pregnant women due to the materials and essentials oils involved in the soap making process.

Our zoom soap making fun allows you to catch up together whilst crafting together, creating wonderful soap made from natural products you find in your kitchens. These eco friendly creations will help nurture, moisturise and cleanse your skin. Our educational soap making workshops are under way within community groups

This week 7soaps have had fun with the scout groups of Wyre Forest offering new activities for the children to do. Our soap making workshops for children allowed the Scouts and Beavers the chance to hand make some lovely soaps to gift to their family and friends. Monday night seen us hold a zoom soap making workshop with 17th Wyre Forest Stourport (Mid Severn) scout troop where the children received prior to the workshop their soap making packs. Thursday evening 7soaps visited the 15th Wyre Forest (Haberely) Beaver Colony to deliver and assist the beavers in making their soaps that they will be gifting to a local charity and their loved ones. We also received a beautiful thank you from the Beaver leaders, thank you so much for the certificate and chocolate treats. Our handmade soaps are made from natural ingredients and we have a wide range of different shaped soap moulds that the children can choose from. Last night the children used our Christmas soap mould range that seen them make Santa, stocking, Christmas tree and many more festive shaped soaps.

Xime and Karen are scout leaders and know how hard running a charity community group is financially and we are fortunate to be able to offer this workshop at cost to support the important work leader volunteers do for our community children. Through scouting activities children learn many #skillsforlife that build their confidence and skills, 7soaps are delighted to be invited to teach the children soap making where they learn first hand how to weigh their ingredients on scales and get their creativity flowing making their handmade gift labels too.

Supporting local community markets

7soap supported two community events this weekend the Kidderminster Country Market and the Kidderminster town market. Xime was at the town market where she met many community members who loved the chrsitmas gift selection and Karen was at the 2nd Kidderminster country market with an array of handmade Christmas gifts.

We both enjoyed the two events and look forward to returning to support our local communities again.

7soaps are now listed on Stourport town website. Our community offer the chance to get involved from all levels to bring the town to light for the all year-round tourists and community members. As a small business we support the community but it is really nice to know the town also support us back. Thank you to all the volunteers that make this website guide and support their community members like us.

Stourport Town - A Georgian canal town in the heart of the Severn Valley

Stourport Town website offers an informative visitor guide to Stourport On Severn, offering information on things to do, Visitor Attractions , Local Businesses and Groups , Food & Drink , Places to stay and even the weather forecast.

Based in the Wyre Forest District of North Worcestershire, Stourport is a popular inland day-trip and holiday destination with the atmosphere of a true maritime holiday resort.

Stourport was established in 1768 as a result of the canals fabulous country network connection and the town area is 2.4 square miles of beauty.

Stourport is a long way from the sea, but has the atmosphere of a true maritime holiday resort. Not surprisingly people from all over the region have been coming to Stourport for many years for a fun day out. It was once a busy inland port, which grew up around the point where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal joins the River Severn.

Today the restored canal basins are a great place to discover the history of the Stourport and the River Severn.

Stourport-on-Severn is almost unique as a town that was only built as a result of the coming of the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal. It was nothing more than a rural village of around 200 people, until the canal made its mark on the place forever!

Discovering Stourport Heritage fun activities through their experienced volunteers is the best way to learn about the town’s history. Visitors to the Tontine Stable and the Old Ticket Office on York Street can find out about the development of Stourport the town through these mini-museums! They are open during events and a visit can be arranged by contacting Stourport Forward .

The Old Ticket Office, once a coal merchant’s office, is home to a fascinating collection of artefacts giving clues to the heritage of the town. Both of the buildings and working boat Bramble are managed by Stourport Forward and post Covid-19, services are being carefully re-opened. Guided walks and heritage room tours are available, by prior appointment. Audio guides are now available, so there may be a small charge for the service.

Fancy a boat ride???

Short trips on heritage working boat Bramble can be arranged for small groups. Bramble is a historic boat, built in 1934, with no facilities, but visitors are welcome to join us for a limited trip as the boat is run in order to maintain her as an historic exhibit. Visitors tell us that they are amazed to see a different view of the town, as they travel through locks, across the extensive canal basins and through the hidden waterways!

7Soaps & High Hopes Dog Rescue Fundraiser

High Hopes dog rescue invited 7soaps to take part at one of their fundraising events. The event was to help raise funds for High Hopes Rescue dogs, organised by Sirius star Fundraising at Cookley Village Dog Show on Sunday 6 ^th September 2020.

On this day we launched our dog shampoo bars which had a great response from the public. It was a beautiful sunny day and loads of pooches came to visit our stall with their owners who were happy to find a natural product for their pets, with no chemicals.

The whole day was an incredible experience as we felt part of the show, we managed to see all the categories parading nearby our stall and we had a good chat with everyone who came and say hello. We are very happy to see all our new happy customers looking forward to washing their dogs with our products.

It was nice to hear that our range was good for everyone’s’ likes and needs; we had dogs with allergies and sensitive skin which will benefit of our natural, unscented shampoo bars as well as customers who like lavender smells and finally found one bar for their pets too or even customers who like cedarwood, tea tree or eucalyptus fragrance’s to reduce their pets smells and enjoy their favourite scents. Our 6 different scents were welcome by all.

2 Octob er I have bathed my dog with a tea tree dog soap and her fur is clean and soft. The soap lathers just enough and the scent is not over strong. I am very happy with the product.

17 October I purchased some dog soap and if I'm honest I was a bit apprehensive as I've always used liquid soap on my dog......

I'm a convert! This doggy soap is the way forward.... I used the hemp one on Penny and her coat looks amazing. This soap hasn't got a strong smell which Penny seemed to prefer.... normally she would fight to get out of the bath but this time she stood there and let me wash her.

Another bonus is there isn't any plastic waste and you don't find yourself struggling to hold the dog whilst you struggle with getting the soap out of a plastic bottle!

My best advice is if your thinking about trying the doggy soap just go for it...Trust me you won't regret it!!!

Our first local wholesale supporter Bells Farm Shop

Bells Farm Shop have been a great support to our 7soaps journey start up. They have been incredible offering the wholesale knowledge to kick start 7soaps products in the community. Throughout lock down they ran our marketing campaign to gain customer feedback on our soaps and offered us their marquee space so that we could run our beginners soap making workshops. This support helped us gather the revenue to develop our product packaging and create this wonderful website. Bells Farm also ran open air social distancing markets alongside Worcestershire food market this was also a great opportunity to sell our soap personally. A huge thank you to all the staff at Bells farm for their continued support with 7soaps. Bells farm shop currently has our natural soap range in stock and our Classic Christmas selection gift boxes.

What a fantastic day again at Bells Farm Shop. Proud to be supporting Bells Farm Food fair today. Lots of our lovely customers popped along a say hi.

Our stall was all set up and ready to go by opening time and we loved seeing all the visitors. As well as our 7Soaps produce there was loads of local goodies on offer including:

Hot Chocolate and their New Chocolate Bar from the Cosy Chocolate Company perfect for autumn nights

It Feels great to be making soap again...

It really does feel great to be making soap again at our Soap making workshops. Today once again our workshop was a wonderful success and our participants made some incredible soaps. Its lovely to see peoples creative side coming out and even more lovely to see the sense of achievement on peoples faces as they complete the workshop.

The weather was with us and we were able to make full use of the space available and most importantly keep a safe distance between us. The venue is perfect for our workshops as there is plenty of outside space so whilst the weather is with us we will make use of this venue as much as we can.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today it was lovely to meet you all and well done for all the great soaps you have made. Don't worry your soaps are now safe and setting back at 7Soaps HQ and we will be delivering them to you as soon as they are cured.

Event cancellation due to Lock down

It is with a very heavy heart this week that we have had to announce that our 2nd soap making workshop had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I'm sure many small businesses like ours have felt the effect of lockdown, but we were literally just getting going.... better to be safe rather than sorry though.

As they say whilst the sun shines, make hay... in our case cultivate Karen's garden with some lovely fragrant flowers for use in our future workshops.

Don't worry though we wont just be topping up our tans. We will use this unscheduled time wisely to improve our offering and plan out some future workshops. If there is anything thing or any theme that you would particularly like us to plan in for the future please do not hesitate to drop us a line.

WOW - Our very first workshop event!!

So today was the day we held our very 1st 7soaps soap making workshop for beginners.

In total 10 Ladies attended today and we all had a wonderful time creating beautifully scented soaps. Everyone enjoyed decorating their soaps with a range of dried flowers and natural sourced ingredients that are kind to the skin and the environment.

The day couldn't have gone better everyone got stuck in and creative with their soaps and the end results were just truly magnificent. The lovely soaps are now all safely at 7soaps HQ in Sychampton and curing nicely.

Meet the 7soaps team - Karen Blanchfield

I LOVE MAKING SOAPS...

I suffer from eczema and have incredibly dry skin. The natural oils in our soaps moisturise and nurture my skin incredibly. With the soaps only containing natural ingredients I suffer no reactions from our range. This inspires me to keep going and encourage anyone else who suffers with skin problems to use our products.

Over the last year we have studied the history and chemistry behind soap making using many natural ingredients found around the home and garden that benefit many skin types. We have successfully made our natural soap range, dog shampoo bars and salt soap bars including a gentleman's shaving bars. 7soaps has grown into my family life and allowed me to have a beautiful cottage industry that I'm extremely proud of.

I love that my hobby turned into a business

It is amazing to see the feedback not only from family and friends but also from our new customers and how this idea of looking after ourselves and our families by knowing what products are getting in our skin has grown; we have our natural range of products well established and more and more people are falling in love with our dog shampoo bars too; the differences our customers are experimenting when they use our products makes me so happy and it is encouraging us to continue experimenting and finding new products to offer good quality soaps.
